Here is why things are about to get crazy in King’s Landing

Warning: Contains spoilers from Game of Thrones Season 6

We all saw how Tommen proved that he is becoming the lamest king in the history of Westeros by abolishing the long standing tradition of trial by combat. Cersei was obviously disappointed by this and she is not one of those to sit by the side and let things run as it is. She had already made some plans that became evident by the secretive talk between Qyburn and Cersei.

Qyburn told Cersei, “That old rumor you told me about, my little birds investigated.”

Cersei asked, “And? Is it just a rumor or something more?”

To this he replied, “More. Much more.”

We do not know yet what they were talking about but fans have come out with their own interpretations. Many fans believe that it has to do something with the stores of wildfire hidden all over King’s Landing. They are of the view that Cersei will burn down King’s Landing just like Mad King wanted to burn the city down with all the hidden wildfire. We got a glimpse of this in Bran’s vision, didn’t we?

In Game of Thrones Season 3 Episode 5, we see Jaime telling Brienne about the Mad King’s love for wildfire.

Aerys saw traitors everywhere, so he had his pyromancer place caches of wildfire all over the city. Beneath the Sept of Baelor and the slums of Fleabottom. House, stables, taverns. Even beneath the Red Keep itself.

Is Cersei about to do what the Mad King was planning to?

Well, Twitter was also voicing the same conclusion.

But still it is just a speculation by the fans. We will have to wait and see what happens in the next two episodes.
