The official synopsis of Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 7: ‘The Broken Man’ is as follows:
“The High Sparrow eyes another target. Jaime confronts a hero. Arya makes a plan. The North is reminded.”
The trailer and the title of the episode have given us strong hints as to what awaits us this week.
5 things you can expect in Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 7: ‘The Broken Man’
1. The Return of the Hound
The title indicates that the Hound can very well be alive, as has been hinted by Ian McShane in an interview. He can be the character Gravedigger from the books. Since he survives and is now repenting, therefore he is now a “broken man“. This could set the tone for the fan-favorite Cleganebowl in the coming episodes.
2. The High Sparrow’s Guile
“The High Sparrow eyes another target”. The High Sparrow has been two steps ahead of the Lannisters and the Tyrells till now and he seems to be well on his way to full domination of Westeros. So who can his next target be? Will it be Cersei or will it Olenna Tyrell? Or it could be Margaery Tyrell after all. She went from a non-believer to an advocate in a matter of one episode. Was it just a facade? She could have done it for Loras. She might have a secret plan of her own to finally get rid of the High Sparrow and the Faith Militants.
Kevan Lannister is also a target given he is the current Hand of the King. So he wields the maximum power and poses huge threat to the High Sparrow.
3. Jaime meets Brynden “The Blackfish” Tully
The trailer shows Jaime and the Blackfish conversing in Riverrun. The Freys have lost control of Riverrun and Jaime is there to take it back from the Tullys. We have already seen that Edmure Tully is still held captive by Walder Frey. So a battle is imminent. There are rumours that Blackfish might not survive this battle. Brienne of Tarth has also been sent by Sansa to ask for help from Blackfish, so that Winterfell can be reclaimed. This could lead to the reunion of Brienne and Jaime. Bad news for Tormund, did you say?
4. The Fight till death between Arya and the Waif
Shoot photos have revealed a fight sequence with knives between Arya and the Waif. While blood can be seen, we know for sure someone dies. Fingers are crossed hoping the showrunners do not decide to kill off Arya.
Moreover, In the following videos from Panarmenian, we have proof that Arya’s leaps are part of a chase scene that leads to this confrontation.
5. Jon and Sansa reach Bear Islands to gather support
Jon and Sansa reach the Bear Islands, given its proximity to Castle Black, to ask the Mormonts for their support in the upcoming battle with Ramsay. Jon and Sansa deliver a long motivational speech only to realise later that House Mormont is impoverished and do not even have 100 people to spare. So will the other houses of the North “remember” what the Starks mean to the North and will they finally side with them instead of the Boltons?
